Q+A
What kind of artwork do you have in your home?
Other than my own, I collect art that either makes me laugh, and is playful (like Freddie Mercury as a cat), are of things that I love (like a lovely cocktail), or art I've bought on my travels (I have a gorgeous sculpted sugar skull from Mexico City).
Best season of the year in Toronto
I love late Spring and Summer in Toronto, where patio nights at my favourite spots and exploring some new ones are my number one activity. Playing "tourist in my city" and exploring an area, not in my usual radius. And then there's watching nature as it comes to life again. The flowers, trees growing their leaves, and the life of people enjoying all that Toronto has to offer.

Some of my favourite hang outs are The Gem Bar and Grill, The Oakwood Hardware, and Alberta Avenue Provisions. My favourite areas are Kensington Market, College Street, that Ossington strip, and Geary Avenue.
When I'm not making art, I'm (a) ...
I'm also a graphic designer and have my own freelancing business.
Why is it important for people to have art in their home or life?
Art expresses who you are and what's important to you. It's like your clothing or book collection. The art you collect can tell a person who you are without so many words. When a new visitor to my home looks at either my art or book collection, I know they are genuinely interested in who I am. Art also has the power to uplift your mood. There's research that landscape pictures can have a meditative effect, like being in nature.
